The Puerua- Waitepeka Catchment Group is brand new in the Puerua/Romahapa area and covers an area of 26,742 hectares, covering the Puerua including Glenomaru and Waitepeka catchment areas.
Catchment highlights
There is regular water sampling on the Waitepeka River and at the top and middle of the Puerua and Glenomaru waterways.
These catchments are notable for the salt water incursion from incoming tide in the lower reaches.
